Zahr Freighters is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the finance team in handling day-to-day accounting activities at our Dubai office. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in accounting within the logistics and freight industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including data entry and record maintenance
- Prepare and post journal entries, invoices, and receipts
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
- Coordinate with internal departments for financial data and clarifications
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support audits and provide required financial reports when needed
- Perform routine administrative and accounting tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of accounting experience (freight or logistics experience is an advantage)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; accounting software knowledge is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
