Zahr Freighters is looking for a skilled and dependable IT Support Engineer to maintain and support the company’s technology systems in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain network connectivity, and help ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations. Strong problem-solving skills, patience, and practical technical knowledge are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level IT technical support to employees.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-related problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and network connectivity issues.
- Configure and maintain computers, network devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Set up and manage user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
- Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and other business applications.
- Assist employees with email, printing, file-sharing, and application-related issues.
- Perform software installations, updates, patches, and routine system maintenance.
- Monitor IT equipment and report recurring or potential technical problems.
- Maintain an updated IT asset register, equipment records, and software license information.
- Assist with data backup and recovery procedures.
- Follow company IT security and cybersecurity policies.
- Support antivirus, endpoint protection, and basic access-control requirements.
- Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers when required.
- Assist with IT infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and system installations.
- Provide basic technical guidance to employees on secure and effective use of company systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an IT Support Engineer, IT Technician, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, TCP/IP, LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
- Experience troubleshooting computers, printers, peripherals, and software applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and email administration is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of IT security, antivirus solutions, backups, and system updates.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple technical support requests and prioritize issues.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with different departments.
